Kay, so first week of weight watchers and cooking for myself is over. Wasn’t to bad, the cooking enough one night to last for 2 worked out really well. First week I lost 2.2 pounds. I’m good with that. For weight watchers that is just about the amount of weight each week you are meant to lose on the program. I’ve found that if I lose weight in smaller steady amounts that it tends to stay off. So I’m off to a good start. ^_^ I’ll try to keep updating here about that, might keep the motivation high. I had to much flatting to do tonight to start my walking, but the plan is to start that up tomorrow night. I think I’m going to go with my plan of walking during Craig Ferguson, should work out pretty well.
Been doing a bit of inking late at night these past few days, just wanted to get going on faerie stories, so only half a page to go and I’ll be caught up with Iwan on inks. So then just 6 more pages of pencils and issue one will fully penciled. So that is quite exciting! Gonna finish that page up tomorrow night and get all my flatting done tomorrow so that I can get cracking on coloring Dyna Girl. Didn’t get to that this weekend as planned, to many pages to get flatted. I think I’m going to try to work out a schedule next week of flatting during the day and coloring at night. Gotta do something so I can stay on top of things.
Anyway, nothing much else to talk about. Figured I’d share quickly what I’ve been watching on TV these days. TV to me = watching/listening to shows on my computer while I’m working, lol I very rarely watch an actual television anymore. I’ve found a few new shows this season that I’m really digging. First Glee, it’s great! So quirky and it’s musical, so totally my sort of show. Next up I’m watching a couple of the abc wednesday night comedies. My favorite of the bunch is Cougar Town, there is just something about that show I’m finding so hilarious. It’s not especially brilliant writing or anything, I’m just enjoying the show. I never watched Friends so I haven’t really seen Courtney Cox in anything other than this. I think she’s doing a great job and I’m liking her a lot in this. Next up I’m watching The Middle, I didn’t love this one to begin with but I gave it another watch the second week and it just keeps growing on me. I did watch Everybody Loves Raymond so I like seeing Patricia Heaton in a new show. Also love seeing “The Janitor” from Scrubs in a bit of different role. So I think those are the only new shows I’ve been watching so far this season. Tried a few others but didn’t love them, so those are the new keepers. Happy to hear that Chuck will be back for a new season! So some older shows that are must see’s for me for the week are Castle, Grey’s Anatomy, Big Bang Theory, The Office, Ugly Betty (I’ve been watching from the first season and just can’t let it go, lol). Wow you know, I think those are all of my must see’s. I’m so behind on Heroes there isn’t even a point anymore. Smallville isn’t on the list because I’m a bit behind on that one as well. Those I will however for sure be watching. Just have to catch up. Ok, enough tv talk I suppose.
Just needed something to fill the space a bit. lol

So nothing much to report, just figured it was about time for an update.
Been working flatting a lot this month, which is good. Should be caught up on flats tomorrow and then I can get some serious coloring done this weekend. The plan is to get seriously started on Dynagirl #1 this weekend, got the first half of the book flatted and ready to go. So I’m looking forward to getting started on that. Totem was such a blast to color, I’m sure Dynagirl is going to be just as much fun! Got a few other coloring projects on the do-to list for November as well, so things are going well on the work front.
Tonight I spent a bit of time trying to put together a cute layout for a new website for Faerie Stories. Figured it deserved a home of its own. Also have a few things planned that really need to have it setup on its own domain. So FaerieStories.com will be coming by the end of the year, hopefully. I’m going to really start working time into my schedule to work on that project in earnest. It’s been kind of sporadic up until now. Iwan is doing such a great job on the art I really want to start getting the ball rolling on this. Get some color laid down and make sure I’m good enough to do the lettering. Might look into having someone else letter it for me if I can’t do it to my satisfaction. I’m fine with small lettering projects, but am not sure about this one. So we’ll see.
In non-work related news, I’ve started up weight watchers again. This time it was kind of unplanned and just sort of happened. My mother and sister decided to go on Adkins, I was going to do that with them initially and then decided against it. There are just not enough vegetables that I love to go on that diet. The ones that I do love were on their ”eat in moderation” list. So I’ll be cooking my meals on my own… yes I’ve been spoiled up until now and my sister cooked everything, lol So far it’s been going well, I’m just cooking 3 meals a week, going for the cook enough one night to last two. I don’t mind leftovers, so it works for me. This way it is also easier to split up the meals and count out the points. So yeah, strange time of year to start this up, but who cares. Whatever works. I’ll still blow it on Thanksgiving I’m sure. I figure if we are eating well the rest of the time a couple days on thanksgiving and Christmas are not going to matter much. So yeah, gonna start walking again next week. I’m putting together a schedule to work out all this stuff. Figure I might just start walking every night during Craig Ferguson or something. So that I’ll be walking on a consistent basis at the same time everyday. I’m gonna try it out anyway. That’s the only late night show I watch, and I don’t do mornings so my work outs are late. lol
Ok, enough of that. I’ve been bitten by the Anime bug again. Don’t know if I’ve talked about that here before or not. My little brother got me into watching anime several years ago. I can’t remember what show it started with really, but I soon discovered the wonderful world of cute/funny/girly/romancy anime, ha ha Right now I’m on my cute/funny phase and am watching Shugo Chara! Doki! It’s freakin’ adorable. Next I might try something a bit more serious, I’ve had a couple series recommended to me, so those are next on the list. I get into these moods where that’s all I’ll watch in my spare time for a couple months. Then it’s like the thirst is quenched and I move on to something else. I’m odd. So far my favorite series have been Lovely Complex, Ouran High School Host Club, and Aza Manga Dio (this one is really strange, my brother got me watching that one). It’s strange how I love Anime but have never read any Manga.
Anyway, off that random tangent. Back to sorting out my website layout. Night All.

Ok, so I’ve actually been back for a couple of weeks now, just haven’t had time for frivolity like blogging, lol
Vacation was great, we had a good time. We didn’t take heaps of pictures as I thought we would end up doing, but we did get a few good shots. Here are a few just for the fun of it.

First one, a shot on our trip to florida. This was the night of our stop in Mississippi at the beach. With my sister, me, my brother and my Aunt.

This one is at the Sci-Fi Drive in Restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Me, my sister, my Mom and Brother.

Finally this one is most of our group at the Magic Kingdom, only one missing is my sister who is of course taking the picture.
It was a fun time, saw a lot, rode a bunch of rides. Ate way to much and spent relatively little on souvenirs but got some cool stuff. So all in all a great trip. Worst part of the trip hands down was the drive, well ride, I didn’t actually drive. Takes a long time to get from Texas to Florida.
So I got back and pretty much have been working non-stop. Had a ton of flatting work come in all at once. Which was great since I missed out on a week and a half of work while I was gone. Just hope it slows down a bit here fairly soon, I’ve got some coloring I want to get done. Really need to find a way to balance the flatting and coloring work, if flatting were a steady stream of pages and I knew what was coming in each week that would help. Alas, it does not work that way. lol
So nothing much new with me at the moment, just busy. Just wanted to get something new up here in case anyone was wondering if I got lost at Disney World and never made it back or something ;p

So it is finally here, we are off on our trek to Florida in the morning. Ended up leaving a day early, so we are splitting up the trip into 2 days. Should roll into Orlando on Friday sometime. So a week of Disney Magic and when I get back plenty of coloring work waiting for me ^_^ Managed to get all of my flatting finished, with the help from a friend, so horray! Going with a clean slate of sorts. I’m all packed, just have a few little things to do tonight and we roll out around 8am. So I’m excited.
I’ll be taking a laptop with me so I might check in occasionally but I’m making no promises, I will be checking my email every couple of days but that’s about all I can guarantee. lol So I’m off to finish up the last minute stuff. See you in 11 days.

Many exciting things on the horizon for me, so I figured I would take a bit of a break from working for a few minutes and write about them a little bit. I’m not a very good blogger, and rarely post anything here that is exceedingly interesting, but I’m going to write about everything here anyway. Just because I feel like it. ;o) Even if nobody reads this darn website I might as well use it for something, lol
Exciting thing #1…. Leaving for Disney World in 4 days!! We will be rolling out of here sometime on Thursday. We are making the trek from East Texas to Florida. Well 5 of our group of 8 are anyway. So the 5 of us will be setting off and splitting the 16+ hour drive up into two managable trips. We will be making a pitstop in Missississippi and then we will be off to Orlando on Friday. Check in at our hotel at Disney World on Saturday. This is majorly exciting. For one I love Disney World, I’ve been once before and it was a blast. Second it is going to be a great time of hanging out with family and friends. Lots of pictures to come when we return I’m sure
2 of our party are having a birthday while we are there, the same day and they are the same age. No relation it just worked out that way. My brother and our good friend Jessica are both turning 22. So that will be a fun celebration.
Exciting thing #2… Work wise I am the busiest I’ve ever been and getting more and more coloring work under my belt. When I return I have a couple webcomics I’ll be coloring, New Comic Day which I’ve talked about here before and another comic for CR. Not sure exactly when that one will start, but those are a lot of fun for me. They don’t take a whole lot of time and are just fun to work on. Just colored up a stash of NCD strips yesterday. One of those is my favorite of the run so far. :) Then I of course have Dynagirl!! I have the first half of issue #1 to get started on, some good friends of mine are actually doing the flats on those pages for me while I’m on vacation. So I get to come home to a stash of pages just waiting to be colored. Ahh, I love those days. There is a strange phenomenon that has started happening with me lately. It’s about flatting the things that I’ll be coloring myself. I just hate doing it, I cannot explain to you why I hate it. It makes absolutely no sense, I can sit here and flat pages for other people to color all day long. Then I’ll open up pages that I’ll be coloring in front of me and I become slow and procastinate something awful. So I’m lucky that my friends are helping me out, and if I can swing it financially I will be continuing this tradition as long as I can. I think it is just almost a feeling of wasting your time, when you can start picturing the way you want to color the page but you have to trudge through the boringness of flatting it first. So yeah I’m enjoying having a flatter of my own.
I can understand now why some people send me fairly easy pages to flat for them, while I’m working on them I always think “why did they send me this, its only going to take 20 minutes”. I get it now. lol Wow this is turning into one long paragraph. Anyway I have 2 or 3 other coloring projects also that will be waiting for my return, so when I get home I’m planning on working up a schedule for myself. I’m going to have to keep up my regular work flatting, but I’m just going to try and get a steady workflow going. Scheduleing chunks of time for each project, I’m looking forward to it actually. I’m having a really fun time with my work currently. If I continue to enjoy my job this much in years to come I’m going to be one happy girl
Exciting thing #3… Revenge of the Homicidal Pumpkins @ Zuda this month. Even though we we had hoped the comic would make it into the October contest I’m really glad it seems to be doing well so far. It seems to be well recieved and most of the comments I’ve seen about my coloring have been positive, which is always nice to hear. I’m excited about the possiblity of continuing on with this story with Shannon and Iwan. I love coloring Iwan’s work so much. He has such an amazing style, it is just truly a joy to work on. It doesn’t even matter the content, as evidenced by screen #4 of the comic, lol I thought I would have a hard time coloring that one from reading the script, but I didn’t even mind the blood and guts. It was actually one of the more enjoyable pages to color.
So if you havn’t already go and check out the comic and give us your vote! We need all the support we can get to win this month.

Exciting thing #4… Faerie Stories is starting to take shape and I’m really excited about it. Only 6 more pages of art to go and Iwan will be finished penciling the first issue. Now I just have to get on the ball and get the inks and colors finished up. I’m really digging the way the art and story are unfolding and I’m looking forward to working hard at this and seeing where it goes. Faeries rule!!
Now I’m going to close for the night. Even though I’m sure I could come up wtih more exciting things I want to get a little more work done this evening and this isn’t helping, lol So I’ll check in once more before we leave most likely. Have a good week everyone!
